All about us
Model Yacht Section
Radio Controlled yachts can be made or purchased to a variety of designs and price points. At Rotherham Model Yacht Club, we currently concentrate on racing three of the most popular designs. All three can be transported in a medium sized car and open up a great hobby opportunity to anybody who has an interest in wind powered sailing. If you are interested, come along and have a chat with our club members.
We are based at Rotherham Sailing Club which has some of the best facilities in the country with an excellent sailing water and cosy club house. The location is just 15 minutes from junction 30 and junction 31 of the M1.
Our racing day is on Saturday. All our series are open to visitors and run throughout the year.
At Harthill there is casual sailing on Wednesday mornings.
Please note that we are currently sailing at Poolsbrook whilst work is done on the dam wall at Harthill and expect return to Harthill mid-2024.
